Origin: Created for greeting cards in 1981 by Those Characters from Cleveland(part of American Greetings) and designed by Elena Kucharik.
Premise: The bears live in Care-a-Lot, where they watch over children and help spread caring feelings. They, along with the "Care Bear Cousins," fight off villains like No Heart, Professor Coldheart, and Beastly.
The Care Bear Stare: Their signature move, where they stand together and radiate light from their belly badges to form a ray of love and cheer.
Media: The franchise has featured numerous TV series (including DIC in the 1980s, Nelvana in the 2000s, and Netflix in 2015), multiple theatrical films, and a 2019 series, Care Bears: Unlock the Magic.
